1 Pupil absence - consideration of the draft report
1.1 The Committee considered the draft report.
It would be amended to reflect Members comments and considered
further at the next meeting.
2 Introductions, apologies, substitutions and declarations of interest
2.1 The Chair welcomed Members to the meeting of the Children, Young People and Education Committee.
2.2 The Chair noted that Heledd Fychan MS
would be substituting for Sioned Williams MS for items 1,6 and
7.
3 Summer exam session 2022 - evidence session
3.1 The Committee heard evidence from the WJEC
and Qualifications Wales.
4 Papers to note
4.1 The papers were noted.
5 Summer exam session 2022 - consideration of the evidence
5.1 The Committee considered the evidence it had heard in the scrutiny session. It agreed to write for further information on some of the issues raised.
6 Legislative Consent: Schools Bill
6.1 Members considered the LCM and agreed to
write to the Minister for Education and Welsh Language for
clarification a few areas. It also agreed to write to the Chair of
the Legislation, Justice and Constitution Committee.
7 Looked after children and care leavers - further consideration of the scope and approach
7.1 The Committee agreed to the terms of
reference and the approach to the inquiry. Members agreed to write
to the Deputy Minister for Social Services for some further
information.
8 Pupil absence - further consideration of the draft report (if needed)
